Music Inspired by The Field

Music written “in The Field” In August 2005, Stefan Meylaers, a Belgian composer, wrote Lynne McTaggart to say that after reading The Field, it “didn”t let me go. . . . Your work is of so great importance for the humanity! I was very impressed by how you managed it to make this complex puzzle understandable, to show the world the essence of life. This book gives the key for so many things. . . “

A composer and pianist Meylaers wrote a piano piece ‘The Field’, inspired by Lynne”s book and dedicated to her.

As Meylaers wrote to Lynne: “This composition has a very special meaning because you gave me, after reading your book, finally the stimulus to write a piece that symbolizes my deepest belief: everything is energy.

Stefan Meylaers “The central idea is a cell which generates itself to a motive, to a phrase, to an episode and finally to an adventurous energetic web. Slowly, towards the end, the music returns back to its physical source: the quint. There is peace. It’s for example the image that you see with a calm and peaceful ocean. The surface is one reality, but the moment that you go under the water surface and you hardly could imagine and believe this other magic sort of existence, which reveals itself there.

‘The Field’ had its world premiere in 2005 and is now featured on the album “Stefan Meylaers, Portrait of a Composer II” (Phaedra).
